Cultural Exchanges
Cultural
divergences in the present Member States of the European Union and the
four candidate countries are not considered as a bar to the sustainable
growth of the European Community, but on the other hand, they are
important and essential requisites for the enhancement of the whole
continent.
EU
citizens in their local societies have their own ideologies and trends
which sometimes are directly related to their own environment and
sociological upbringing. These specific ideologies and trends are
determinant for the future of the Community because they form the basis
of the primary aim of Community Laws and Policies. The new work plan for
culture 2005-06, was adopted during the Education, Youth and Culture
Council on 15 and16 November. It sets out five priorities:

to
reflect upon how the cultural sector contributes towards European
economic growth, employment and cohesion;

to
provide EU citizens with unrestricted, sustainable and reliable
digital access to Europe’s cultural heritage;
-
to
improve information on mobility of artists and works and
intercultural dialogue;
-
to
make the moving of works of art, art collections and exhibitions
easier;
to solve problems caused by taxation of mobile artists.
Member
State Culture and Artistic talents found around the Community are
important issues for this project. We believe that through the efforts
and skills of all those persons who believe in their own values, we can
develop an organization whereby all these cultural particularities come
together under one roof in order to manifest their own identities and
beliefs
